Lizzie Pannill Fletcher Raises More Than $1 Million in Q2
With over $1 million raised in Q2, Fletcher holds $800,000 in replenished war chest
Houston, Texas – Lizzie Pannill Fletcher, Democratic candidate for Texas’ 7th Congressional District, announced that she raised more than $1 million in the second fundraising quarter of 2018, entering July with nearly $800,000 cash on hand.
Over the second quarter of 2018, more than 75% of Lizzie’s funds came from within Texas, with more than 68% coming from Houston-area residents. This quarter also brings Lizzie to more than $2 million raised since she entered the race.
“Our campaign is powered by people in this community, who have seen John Culberson choose Washington politics over people here in Houston,” Lizzie said. “I am extremely proud of the outpouring of local support that has come since day one of our campaign. The momentum we are creating, coupled with the broad coalition we continue to build, will help switch this seat and bring TX-07 the representation we deserve in Congress.”
In the Democratic runoff in May, Lizzie finished first – winning all but 12 of 143 voting precincts and collecting 67.12% of the final vote total. She is the official Democratic nominee in Texas’ 7th Congressional District, a district that Hillary Clinton carried in the 2016 election. She has been endorsed by EMILY’s List, a leading national organization dedicated to electing pro-choice Democratic women to office, and designated a Red to Blue candidate by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
Lizzie is the first woman partner at AZA, a Houston law firm where she has represented Houstonians from all walks of life, helping them find solutions to complex problems. She has been recognized by her peers as one of the ‘Best Lawyers in America’ in U.S. News and World Report. She co-founded Planned Parenthood Young Leaders, and currently serves on the boards of directors for Writers in the Schools (WITS) and Open Dance Project.
