Houston, TX—Reverend William A. Lawson, civil rights pioneer and community leader, has endorsed Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) for re-election. For more than 50 years, Reverend Lawson has been a pillar of our community and one of our city’s most influential voices.
“Lizzie Fletcher has been a strong advocate for our community in Congress. She stands with us on protecting voting rights, defending access to health care, and prioritizing economic policies that lift up all families. I am proud to endorse Lizzie Fletcher’s re-election,” Reverend Bill Lawson said.
“I am honored to earn the endorsement of Reverend Lawson, who I have admired since I was young. He not only personifies our community’s collaborative spirit, he shaped it. Through his work to address injustice, fight for equality, and improve the lives of Houstonians by working with diverse coalitions, he has made our community stronger and shown us what true leadership looks like,” Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher said.
Fletcher has been endorsed by local leaders from across the district, including Houston City Council Members, a bipartisan coalition of mayors within Texas’ Seventh Congressional District, all former living mayors of the City of Houston, and top Harris County and law enforcement officials. Fletcher has a proven record of consistently working with both parties both at the national and local levels throughout her first term in Congress, and has garnered substantial support for her re-election campaign.
