Houston, TX—Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) announced she has earned the endorsement of the Latino Labor Leadership Council of Southeast Texas for her 2022 re-election.
“I am proud to receive the support of the Latino Labor Leadership Council and continue to work with its members to ensure their voices are heard in Washington. I am proud to partner and work to advance solutions to the critical issues facing our communities,” Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher said. “Here in Houston, we know the value of hard work and what is possible when we work together.”
“Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher has been an advocate for working families during her time in Congress. She has worked to protect workers’ right to organize, provide accountability for workers’ rights violations, and supported a $15 minimum wage. The Latino Labor Council is proud to support her re-election and we look forward to working with her on behalf of working Texans,” said Latino Labor Council spokesperson Steven Flores.
A second-term Member of Congress, Fletcher was first elected to represent Texas’ Seventh Congressional District in 2018 after a decisive victory over nine-term incumbent John Culberson in 2018, becoming the first Democrat in more than 50 years and the first woman ever to represent TX-07. In 2020, she was re-elected over one of the National Republican Congressional Committee’s best-funded challengers. Her re-election campaign is in the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Frontline program of priority races.
In the 117th Congress, Fletcher serves on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee.
