Houston, TX—Today, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher (TX-07) announced her re-election campaign has earned the endorsements from top Harris County officials: Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, Harris County Commissioner Adrian Garcia, and Harris County Constable Alan Rosen.
“I am proud to partner with the leaders of our county who work every day to make sure our community is a safe and a great place to live,” said Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher. “Throughout my job representing Texas’ Seventh Congressional District, which is located entirely within Harris County, I have been committed to working with Harris County leaders to help improve the lives of people in our district, and I am honored to earn their endorsements for my re-election.”
“Harris County is the most diverse community in the country—in people and ideas. Lizzie Fletcher brings that diversity to Congress, working with colleagues of both parties to deliver for the people of her district. She has been a collaborative partner, listening to what we need and bringing our voice to Washington. I am proud to endorse her re-election and look forward to working with her for years to come,” said Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.
“As the Sheriff of Harris County, I know what it means to prioritize public safety. As a former member of City Council, I know what it means to prioritize our collective success. Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher has shown she knows how to do the same — she listens to what we need, she fights for us in Washington, and she brings the values of this region to Congress. I have been proud to work alongside her and I am proud to endorse her re-election,” said Ed Gonzalez, Harris County Sheriff.
“Harris County is unique—it is the most diverse community in the country, it powers the world through our energy production, and leads the way on health care research and care. We know how to be innovative with our infrastructure, lift up small businesses, and always put people first. We are lucky to have Lizzie Fletcher in Congress as our champion on the values we share and our advocate on the issues critical to our collective prosperity,” said Rodney Ellis, Harris County Commissioner, Precinct One.
“As a current Harris County Commissioner, and former Houston City Council Member, I know an effective elected leader when I see one—and that is Lizzie Fletcher. As the former Sheriff of Harris County and longtime HPD Officer, I know from experience Lizzie’s focus on safety of both law enforcement and the community at large is the right approach for district 7. Congresswoman Fletcher has demonstrated how data-driven, common sense policies keep our community protected and help our region prosper. I am proud to stand with her, give my full-throated endorsement for her re-election, and I look forward to working with her for years to come,” said Adrian Garcia, Harris County Commissioner, Precinct Two.
“As a proud law enforcement leader, I have spent my career prioritizing the safety and prosperity of our community. In her first term, I have been honored to work alongside Congresswoman Fletcher. She brings a true commitment to being our representative—she understands this district, has built broad coalitions, and remains focused on our priorities. I am pleased to support her re-election as the representative for Texas’ 7th Congressional District,” said Alan Rosen, Harris County Constable, Precinct One.
Today’s announcement builds on Fletcher’s already-strong support by local elected officials. Last week, she announced endorsements from a bipartisan coalition of mayors in Texas’ Seventh Congressional District as well as from all living former mayors of the City of Houston. An active community partner throughout her first term in Congress, Fletcher has built a broad coalition of support at both the local and national levels. The endorsements for her re-election highlight Fletcher’s commitment to working with leaders across Texas’ Seventh Congressional District to be Houston’s advocate in Washington, D.C.
